FAQ’s

  1. Do you supply "Camera Ready" artwork?

LogoQuality.com provides you with a vector based eps file created in Adobe Illustrator. This is the Industry standard file format for professional print and design. From this file your printer can create the separate plates required for printing.

The process is mainly digital these days and the term "Camera Ready Artwork" is a relic from the days when printers photographed the separate colours prior to creating the plates for printing. Some printers and print processes still require this stage but they are pretty rare. That is why we supply you with a file format for your printer where the colours can be separated.

This file format is also 100% editable and can be used by any graphic designer or printer with the correct tools.

  2. Why do I have to pay first?

We are 100% committed to the success of your design project. We need to make sure you are committed too because logo design is a two way process where your input is required.

We are so confident in the service we offer you that we back all our work up with a 100% money back guarantee. This means that if for any reason (right up until you have selected a final design) you are not happy, we return 100% of the money you have paid us. No questions asked.

If you are a well established business with a good record of paying your suppliers on time, we will be happy to give you account terms. This means that we will design for you before any payment but you must pay us before delivery of the final work. Call 01753 20 80 22 and speak with one of our graphic design experts to get started.

  3. Who owns the copyright to the finished design?

You do. As long as payment has been made in full and we have your sign-off on the finished design, you own all rights to it. We do not retain any rights over your design at all.

  4. Do you use clipart or re-use bits of previously discarded designs?

Absolutely not! The graphic designers employed by LogoQuality.com are all formally educated in graphic design. Your design is trademarkable because we NEVER use clipart. We also never use bits from other designs that have been rejected by other clients.

Your logo design will be 100% unique and will be an asset to your company from the very first time you use it. Your logo will give confidence to an ever increasing brand conscious market. Even if your company is very small it will look world-class.

  5. How do I get started?

You can order by clicking on the "Add To Cart" or "Buy Now" buttons for the product that you wish to purchase. Once you have completed the simple online order form and made your payment choice, we will get back to you to let you know what to expect from here. If you prefer, we are happy to take your design order over the phone. Please call 01753 20 80 22 and we can get started on this for you today. Use the "Free Call Back" option from the menu at the top of the page and we will call you back at our cost.

  6. How do I communicate changes to my design?

Once you have selected the design to go forward with we need you to either accept it as is or give us instructions on what you want changed. If you want to make changes to the design you have selected, please follow the advice below to make the process as smooth and fast as possible.

    1. Each instruction should be put on a sperate line in your email like this:

    a) Change instruction number 1
    b) Change instruction number 2

Design is a 2 way process so your input is not only welcome but is required to make it a success.

    2. Try to be as concise as you can. The fewer words you use to explain something, the easier it will be to understand.

    3. If you can point to samples of what you mean or provide a simple sketch this can go a long way to making your point.

    4. Be patient. Your logo is very important to your business and must be absolutely right for you. If you have asked for several changes and you don“t think a change has been made just tell us. We will put it right. Get on the phone if you like and tell us in person what you expect from us. We want to get it right just as much as you do. (01753) 208022 is our number and we are here from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday.

    5. If you think we are going in the wrong direction with your design then just tell us. We can start again. Remember, it is your design and you must be 100% happy with it. The sooner you tell us about a problem, the quicker we can get it fixed.

  7. What is the turnaround timescale?

LogoQuality.com will provide you with a minimum of three design choices no matter what design product you buy. Once you have selected the design to progress with and you have given instructions for any alterations you may want, we will deliver the changes in around 1 business day and the final design file formats in 1 business day.

From the start of the project to the finish can be as fast as 3 business days dependent on your speed getting changes back to us and your final approval. Typically though with revisions you should allow around 2 weeks. The speed is pretty much controlled by you though.

  8. How many designs do I get to choose from?

No matter what marketing material we are designing for you, we will always give you a bare minimum of 3 designs to choose from. This is often more depending on the actual project so if you expect 3 and we send you more it is a bonus. The logo design services will normally have a choice of five designs.

These choices are created by a variety of designers too. Not just one. This way you get to see a range of styles and different ideas that is not possible using just one designer.

Other design studios put just one designer on your project and if you don't like their style then thats too bad because you are stuck with it. Not so with LogoQuality.com. Variety really is the spice of life.

  9. What file formats do you give me?

    tif TIFF

(CMYK colour) - 300 dpi high resolution (dpi means dots per inch. This is how the image is made up if viewed under a microscope).
The tif file is for printing on a lithographic printing press. The CMYK colour stands for the four colours that are used in "Process Printing". Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and the K actually stands for Black (or in some circles Key). This file format is often requested by print shops. This is one of many file formats that a printer can request.

If you can open this file format on your PC you will often see that the colours are totally different to the other logo files we send you. This is because your computer monitor and your home/office printer uses RGB colour.

RGB colour stands for Red, Green, Blue. Your PC does not have the correct filters to read CMYK colour. This is entirely normal and when printed on a lithographic printing press the colours will print correct. (Because a lithographic printing press can print many more variations of the colour spectrum you may notice a slight difference in the end product compared to what you would be able to print on a home office printer).
It is always best in the case of a consistent corporate identity to use a colour matching system like Pantone. You will find a colour matching book to view at your local printer.

    Perfect for: Professional printing.
Home/Office printing that supports CMYK colour.

    jpg JPG

(3 useful sizes) or JPEG as it is often referred to (RGB colour) - 300dpi.

These file types are all used for home/office printing in applications like Word or PowerPoint (you import the image into your document) or for web site images in FrontPage or more professional web site editing programs (html editors) like DreamWeaver or GoLive.

The resolution of these files is 300dpi which in printing terms is high resolution. We give you several sizes because although it is possible to make your own sizes using the source file (eps file) few people in reality own the correct tools to do this.

The sizes we send are usually sufficient for most things you want to do personally and if you do need anything else you can get the help of a designer with the correct tools to create other sizes as you see fit or just ask us at the time of ordering and we can supply the size you need.

    Perfect for: Home/Office printing.
    Web Design
Importing in to Microsoft Office applications like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access etc.

    gray JPG Grayscale -

    300dpi.

This file type is provided so that you can seek trademark status for your logo. Most trademark organizations will only accept images that are in grayscale. The Eupean trademark office can be found here: http://oami.europa.eu/en/mark/default.htm You will be able to protect your new logo throughout Europe.

    Perfect for: Trade mark application.
    Home/Office printing.
    Web Design
Importing in to Microsoft Office Applications like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access etc.

    psd PSD

    (RGB) - 300 dpi.

This file format is used by professional designers and is the native file format of Adobe Photoshop. You need Adobe Photoshop to open this file type or an application that canwork with PSD files. We supply it with a transparent background too so it is great for use by a professional web designer or graphic designer.
Many people mistakenly think the PSD file is your editable supplied source file (master file). This is not true for logo design. For a logo to be used across a large spectrum of different media and applications it is created as a vector file. (Vector files can be resized using the right software without loss of quality). Your PSD file can also be used for home/office printing if you have Adobe Photoshop. I repeat. In the case of logo design, this file type is NOT the master file.

Perfect for: Home/Office printing. (Requires Adobe Photoshop)
    Web Design. (Requires Adobe Photoshop)
    Graphic Design. (Requires Adobe Photoshop)

    eps EPS

    (CMYK colour)

This is your fully editable MASTER FILE that all the other file types are created from. You need specialist software to work with this file called Adobe Illustrator or any other vector drawing program than can import Illustrator version 10 eps files..

The eps file is fully editable with the fonts flattened. We flatten the fonts because fonts are just like software and to own a font you must buy the licence. This way you do not need to buy the font.

If we did not flatten the font then you would need to buy a copy of the font as well. You are of course free to do that yourself. There are many good font sites on the web but we always recommend http://www.Fonts.com or http://www.adobe.com/type
The eps file is a vector file. All the other file types we send are raster files.

Raster files are made up of tiny dots, clearly visible under a microscope. This means that when enlarged in size or reduced significantly in size, raster type files will lose quality.

Vector files on the other hand do not suffer from this loss of quality because the image software uses a mathematical technique called vectoring to create the image. The eps vector file can be reduced and enlarged using the correct software without any loss of quality. This file format is also used by the majority of professional printers.

Perfect for: Professional Printing. (Requires Adobe Illustrator)
    Graphic Design. (Requires Adobe Illustrator)

    ai AI

    (CMYK colour)

Fully editable stationery design master file. Professional logo designers use vector drawing tools like Adobe Illustrator to create logo designs and not raster drawing tools like Adobe Photoshop.
We also use Adobe Illustrator for stationery design as that is the industry standard for printers.

Perfect for: Professional Printing. (Requires Adobe Illustrator)
    Graphic Design. (Requires Adobe Illustrator)

    Standard Transparent File Formats:
Many clients are surprised when viewing the design choices that we send that the JPG logo files do not have transparent backgrounds. The reason for this is that only certain file formats can support transparency. JPG files can not. We do however supply a couple of transparent file formats with your finished logo pack. These formats are the PSD file and the eps file. Both these formats however require special software to work with. The PSD requires Adobe Photoshop and the eps requires Adobe Illustrator.

    Optional Transparent Extras:

    gif GIF

    (RGB colour) - 72 dpi.

Gif files do not resize well at all. For us to supply you with a transparent gif file you need to tell us the size you need. Otherwise if you try to resize it yourself the results will generally be very poor.

Gif files are not the best quality file format and often suffer from pixalation. This is the technical word for jagged edges. If you want this file format you can request it on the order form in the other information area but please remember to supply the size required.

    png PNG

    (RGB colour) - 72 dpi.

PNG files are a fairly new arrival on the scene. It is a web site file format supported now by most web browsers. The beauty of this format is that the quality of finish is usually high. The PNG file format also resizes much better than Gif files. Older versions of web browsers will not do not support this file format. Request this format on the order form should you require it.

  10. What happens if I don't like any of the choices?

This is one of the questions that comes up daily. Logo design is very subjective and you are right to wonder what happens if non of the designs are to your liking. We will speak to you again about what you don't like and we will agree on a new direction. Your input is critical to the success of the logo design project. Once we have agreed a new direction we will provide a new set of design choices for you to review. These will be much nearer to your dream logo and will require just a little refinement to perfect one of them. If you are still not happy we can either discuss some new ideas or we can refund your money. The process is risk free to you because no matter how much work we have put in, if you are not delighted then we will refund 100% of the money you paid us. This gaurantee is good all the way up to you selecting a final design from us or 90 days without contact from you.
